Technical Skills and Competencies

Knowledge

1. Relevant requirements for handling cleaning chemicals are.
2. Common chemical safety and hazard symbols and their meaning.
3. Effects of cleaning chemicals on various surfaces.
4. Types and uses of cleaning chemicals.
5. Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management.
6. Organisational procedures relating to the preparation of cleaning chemicals.

Abilities

1. Assess the use of cleaning chemicals.
2. Allocate the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to handle different types of cleaning chemicals.
3. Determine the quantity and types of the cleaning chemicals to be loaded into the container.
4. Communicate work assignment to workers to ensure the smooth operation 
5. Allocate resources to replenish the cleaning chemicals required in each container
6. Inform the appropriate person when work cannot be carried out and/or incidents occur. 
7. Monitor the workers in accordance with organisational procedures. 

This course will be targeted primarily at employees who are currently undertaking a supervisory or team leader role with the technical skills and knowledge to supervise cleaning operations and cleaning operators. He or Her role would involve Allocating cleaning chemicals required for cleaning biohazard decontamination process.
