OVERVIEW

This course is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills in managing work at height, so that such work can be carried out safely.

This course has been designed to meet the minimum standard for Working at Height Training for Supervisors, Assessors or Managers in Singapore, as recommended in the WSH (Work at Heights) Regulations 2013 and the Approved Code of Practice for Working Safely at Height (2011).
The course is also for anyone involved in the supervision, planning / assessment or management of work at height activities.

The aim of the course is to provide Learners with the requisite WAH knowledge to manage work-at height activities, so that work can be carried out safely. At the end of the course, the Learner shall be able to:

    • 1. Identify, explain and apply the relevant Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Legislations / Approved Code of Practice / Singapore Standards applicable to Work-at-Heights (WAH)

2. Identify and explain the Roles & Responsibilities of stakeholders, competent and responsible persons.

3. Identify hazards, evaluate the risk, and implement control measures for WAH activities

4. Review the necessary fall preventive / protective control measures for safe execution of WAH activities

5. Establish, evaluate, review and implement a Fall Prevention Plan
6. Establish and implement a system for effective monitoring and control of WAH risks
7. Don, check and correct Individual Fall protection equipment and respond to a fall emergency

The course is for persons involved in supervision, the planning/assessment and /or management of Work at Height activities.

A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded upon completion of each unit.

Learners are assumed to have:
at least Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 and above and above or equivalent and the ability to carry out hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.

  • From 1st Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding has been revised to a baseline of up to 50% of the Course fee for certifiable courses approved by SSG.
  • Enterprises and individuals who qualify for SSG’s enhanced subsidy schemes (SkillsFuture Mid-career Enhanced Subsidy and Enhanced
    Training Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)) will receive an enhanced subsidy of up to 20% – points above the baseline course fee subsidies.
